The 2025 NC Folk Festival Lineup Is Here
May 5, 2025 – The North Carolina Folk Festival is thrilled to announce the full artist lineup for its 2025 event, returning to downtown Greensboro from September 12-14. With 3 days of non-stop music across 5 stages and more than 50 performances, all completely free to attend, this year’s festival is shaping up to be the biggest celebration of folk and global roots music in the Southeast.
This year’s headliners include:
Friday, September 12: Sammy Rae & The Friends, with opening artist Oh He Dead
Saturday, September 13: Arrested Development, with opening artist Dustbowl Revival
Sunday, September 14: Steep Canyon Rangers, with opening artist Chatham Rabbits
Joining the headliners are dozens of nationally and internationally acclaimed artists across genres from Latin soul to Appalachian folk and indie rock to gospel, including: Gaby Moreno, Peter One, Thunderstorm Artis, Palmyra, Ethno USA, Tyler Ramsey, ¡Tumbao!, Denitia, Lizzie No, Stella Prince, Sam Burchfield & The Scoundrels, Jeff Sipe Trio, Cristina Vane, Maia Kamil, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, The Tan and Sober Gentlemen, Jack the Radio, Sonny Miles, a special performance from the NC A&T State University’s Fellowship Gospel Choir and Drum Line and many more.
New to this year’s festival are the NC Folk Festival After Parties. These events will bring even more music to downtown Greensboro, with performances across local bars, breweries and venues all weekend long. Stay tuned for artist announcements and ticket information.
For families, Saturday, September 13 offers a special treat: The Rock and Roll Playhouse: Music of the Grateful Dead for kids, a family-friendly jam in LeBauer Park following Paw Patrol Live! at the Tanger Center.
